Checking your data usage can save you money and ensure that you always have phone service when you need it. T-Mobile, fortunately, provides three methods for keeping track of your plan’s text, call, and data usage. If you have T-Mobile as your mobile service provider, this article will show you how to check T-mobile balance usage on the T-Mobile website, the T-Mobile App, or by dialing short codes. Scroll down to read the details.
T-Mobile offers three main unlimited plans, as well as special plans for seniors, military and veteran members, and first responders.
Plans with unlimited usage
If you choose automatic payments, you can save $5 per month per line (up to eight lines) on any unlimited plan. Before any discounts, the prices listed below are for one line.
Video streams are in standard definition ($65 plus taxes and fees). Unlimited mobile hotspot data is included, but at 3G speeds, which are slightly slower than the 4G or 5G data speeds available on smartphones. Unlimited texting while traveling outside of the United States is one of the international features. Talk, text, and 2G data (read: slow) are also available in Mexico and Canada.
Magenta ($75, taxes and fees included):
Standard definition video streams. This plan includes 5GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data (but drops to unlimited 3G speed after that), as well as a basic Netflix subscription if you have more than one line. International features include unlimited texting and data at 2G speeds in more than 200 countries, as well as talk, text, and 5GB of high-speed data in Mexico and Canada.
Magenta MAX ($90, taxes and fees included):
Customers must activate it and have a device that supports it to receive video streams in 4K UHD. This plan includes 40GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data (after which customers receive unlimited 3G speeds), as well as a standard Netflix subscription if you have multiple lines. International features include unlimited texting and data with speeds up to 256kbps in more than 200 countries, as well as talk, text, and 5GB of high-speed data in Mexico and Canada. Although this is slightly faster than the Magenta plan, uploading photos and videos would still be difficult.

T-My Mobile’s T-Mobile website allows you to check their usage online. To begin, go to My T-Mobile and sign in with your account information. Then, under Usage, select View all usage details. If you only want a specific time period, locate the Date field and enter the date range that you want.
The mobile app is the best way to track your usage. T-Mobile ensures that the most recent information is available here. If you haven’t already, you can get the iPhone version here and the Android version here. To view your usage, open the T-Mobile app, select Bill, and then See all usage. You can view your data, messages, minutes, and mobile hotspot usage here.
T-Mobile offers four distinct codes from which to check your data usage via phone, depending on the information that you would like to request. These codes must be entered from the T-Mobile device for which data is being requested.
Enter #WEB# or #932# and press call to check your data usage. Type #MSG# or #674# and press call to view your text message usage. Enter #MIN# or #646# and press call to check your remaining minutes. Finally, if you are using a prepaid device, dial #999# and press call to check the remaining balance.

Frequently Asked Questions
The best method is to insert your T-mobile sim card and dial #225#, which will tell you when the card will expire. Then all you have to do is refill the basic to keep it active. Hello Matureox, #225# does not tell you when the SIM card and phone number will expire; it only tells you when the current billing cycle will end.
Go to Settings > Cellular or Settings > Mobile Data to see how much cellular data you’ve used. If you’re using an iPad, you may instead see Settings > Cellular Data. Scroll down to see which apps are making use of cellular data.
After the last refill, the SIM card is valid for 90 days. It will be terminated 90 days after the last recharge and any remaining credits will be forfeited.
If your T-Mobile prepaid Service account balance is insufficient, your service will be suspended unless you switch to a pay-as-you-go plan. Your phone number will be reallocated if you do not reinstate prepaid Service within the time frame specified by your service plan.
